Pre-Cleansing

We totally feel you! Trying new things can cause lots of anxiety. Thoughts of so-called failure can be overwhelming. Yet the good news is, there’s nothing to prove! If you have not cleansed before, start slowly. Begin to cleanse for one meal a day and then increase the days of cleansing.

While committing to a juice cleanse program requires a level of dedication, it is not designed in any way to starve you. The goal is to feed you through highly nutritious liquids.

Contact us for support at any stage of the cleansing—or pre-cleansing—process.

Our juice cleanse programs are designed for all healthy people; however, there are certain individuals who should NOT cleanse without professional medical supervision.

  • Pregnant or Breastfeeding Ladies: You should not restrict your diet to liquids, as you need extra calories and nutrients in your diet.
  • Youths below 18: Discuss your desire to cleanse with your parents. For parents, ask your health care professionals if our fresh, unpasteurized drinks are right for those under 18. Generally, children under 18 should not participate in our juice cleanse program. In any case, we have 1-day, ‘Singular’, ‘Double Goodness’ sets to enjoy with foods.
  • Diagnosed illness, chronic ailment (e.g. diabetes, heart disease): Consult your doctor before beginning the cleanse. Cleansing should be done under the direct supervision of a health practitioner. People with the following conditions are advised against cleansing:
    • Persons who are physically too thin or emaciated.
    • Extreme weakness or debilitation, severe anemia, nutritional deficiencies, AIDS.
    • Persons who have tumors, bleeding ulcers, cancer, blood diseases, or who have heart disease.
    • People who suffer chronic problems with kidneys, liver, lungs, heart, or other important organs.
    • Individuals who take insulin for diabetes, or suffer any other blood sugar problem such as hyperglycemia.
  • Taking Prescription Medicine: If you’re on short-term medications, it would be best to wait until you are done with your medication before doing a cleanse. We suggest that you consult with your doctor if you’re treated for chronic illness.
  • Eating Disorders: Persons who are prone to anorexia, bulimia, or other behavioral disorders are advised against cleansing. And for those who have struggled with eating disorders in the past, cleansing should be done with wisdom and caution. Cleansing should not be used as a motive for weight-loss and it is important to enter back into “normal” healthy eating after a long cleanse. We try not to focus on weight loss as a goal at Joogo.

If you have any concerns, please consult your doctor or healthcare professional first. We’re not licensed to give medical advices.

Joogo cleansing programs are designed for adults to enjoy, even those of you who are lactose-intolerant and keep a vegetarian or wheat- and gluten-free diet. However, please take note for those with:

  • Sugar sensitivities or problems: There are good amounts of natural sugars found in the juices containing fruits. Contact us if you want to substitute these juices with pure green juices. For those with diabetes, we recommend you check with your doctor.
  • Other allergies: Let us know if you’re allergic to any of our ingredients, we will remove or replace it.

During the cleanse

Experience of symptoms will differ from person to person. These symptoms are caused by the release of body toxins. You may experience some common detox symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, diarrhea, nausea, sluggishness, restlessness, tiredness, flu, breakouts, body aches and pains, irritability, insomnia, weakness, bloating and gas. However this will pass quickly. After a phase, you may find yourself full of energy. With proper hydration and rest you can reduce them.

If your symptoms are unusual, unbearable or you have any concerns about the side effects you may be suffering, please consult your doctor immediately.

Our cleanse program is designed to provide you with all the nutrients you will need to get through your day. Each beverage is designed to replace solid foods and snacks. But if you still find an urge to eat, take a look at our “cheat sheet” which we will give you when you start the cleanse with us.
Schedule light workload, social life and exercise. Have lots of rest and water. Do plan to sleep early too. Massage, scrubs, saunas warm bath with epsom bath salt are a few ideas that will enhance your body’s detoxification process.

Yup! But make sure they’re healthy. Extra doses of water with lemon and herbal or green teas will be good. Though, it’s best to stick to water. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and energy, carbonated, sugar and soy protein drinks, etc. And if you like to order extra juices to keep on hand for emergencies, feel free to go ahead and do so.
  • Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and energy, carbonated, sugar and soy protein drinks, etc. Best to stick to water.
  • Avoid drugs (includes natural herbal drugs and homeopathic remedies).
  • Avoid smoking & other habits (Good time to wean from smoking, bingeing or other habits).
  • Avoid chewing gum or mints, if possible.
  • Multi-vitamins. This is up to you. Some people have no problem taking vitamins as usual, but some supplements are too strong to be taken on a juice-only stomach.

We will provide you with more information when you start the cleanse with us.

Post cleanse

It’s really up to you, let your body and soul tell you what you want. It also depends on what you are trying to achieve through cleansing. Some people will do a cleanse once a month, and some even do it weekly.
Every body is different. If you’re already slim and eating well, you may not lose any weight at all. Others who are overweight and transitioning from a highly processed, low-nutrient diet may lose a kilogram a day. Anything you lose during a cleanse is probably water and toxins. But what Joogo does is to give you a jumpstart into a healthier eating habit. We won’t be surprised to know that you regained the weight if you go back to your old eating habits.

For people who have struggled with eating disorders in the past, cleansing should be done with wisdom and caution. Cleansing should not be used as a motive for weight-loss and it is important to enter back into “normal” healthy eating after a long cleanse. We try not to focus on weight loss as a goal at Joogo.
